Haven Camps at Delta Lake began in 1971 through the vision of Rev. Bill Moon. Bill was a pastor in Newark, NY and often went into NYS facilities to lead Bible studies on Sunday afternoons.
Bill had a connection with Delta Lake and got permission to take a group of the residents to camp for a few days. That began Haven Camps!
Now Haven Camps take place throughout the year through weekend retreats and week-long summer camps. What started with a handful of campers now has the opportunity to serve over 400 campers a year!
What we do at Haven camps
Create Belonging
At Haven Camps everyone is valued, important and a key member of our community. We focus on the value of each individuals and the fact that we all have a unique purpose in life.
Build Relationships
At Haven Camps we build and nurture relationships with fellow campers and staff. We also talk about what it means to begin a friendship with Jesus.
Find Adventure
At Haven Camps we get to participate in activities that include everything from swimming and boating to painting and volleyball. We sing, dance and take advantage of the beautiful camp environment with hayrides, picnics and campfires.
